Dubrovnik Stays
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything guests and owners ask us most, in one place.

How does booking work on Dubrovnik Stays?

You submit a booking request for your dates, which doesn't charge anything yet. The owner reviews it and either approves or declines it. Once approved, you add a payment card, which is verified but not charged immediately — your booking is only guaranteed once payment is collected.

When is my card charged?

Your card is charged automatically 15 days before check-in. If you book within 15 days of check-in, the charge happens as soon as your card is verified.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes, free of charge, at any point more than 15 days before check-in. Once you're within 15 days of check-in, cancellation is no longer available through the platform, since payment has already been processed or scheduled.

What happens if my payment fails?

You're notified by email and given a 24-hour grace period to add a working card. If payment still isn't completed within that window, the booking is automatically cancelled and the property is released.

How do I message the property owner?

Every listing has a message button that goes directly to the owner, and you'll see their replies in your account. Dubrovnik Stays isn't involved in day-to-day questions about a specific stay, so owners can answer directly and quickly.

Are the reviews real?

Yes. Guest reviews come from verified bookings made through the platform. Some listings also display reviews imported from the owner's real Google Business Profile, clearly separated from guest reviews.

Is there a booking fee for guests?

No — the price you see is what you pay, plus any listed cleaning fee. Dubrovnik Stays charges owners a service commission, not guests.

How do I list my own property?

Owner accounts are set up directly by our team to keep every listing verified. Reach out via the contact page and we'll have you listing within days.
